Here are two atc's that I did for Ripple. I hope that you will stop by Ripple and either buy a card, or make a card, or both! Here is what it says on their blog:
"Each sketchcard on this blog is $10.00. The $10.00 is a donation to help the animal victims of the Deep Water Horizon Gulf Oil Spill. Every penny is donated. The two Non-Profits that are benefiting are The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies and The International Bird Rescue Research Center. You can purchase a card if you donate directly to one of the non-profits and email me the confirmation and your address to ripplesketches@verizon.net. The artist will mail you the signed card.
We don't have to feel helpless. We can help. Our small actions together will ripple outward. "
The pelican has already sold!! So, thank you to the buyer; I'll have that in the mail today!
This is one that I've just sent in; as of this writing, it hasn't made it up on the site yet. I did the background first, sort of an abstract all colors running together sort of thing, because I was deciding what to draw still. Then I drew in the turtle, directly in ink (Micron, sepia). Then I added more watercolor. I like the way it turned out.
UPDATE: The Sea Turtle is now sold!
I love the way they turned out!!! They are gorgeous =) And I have never participated in ATC cards trading or whatsoever too...so if you do learn anything for it, remember to pass on the knowledge to me too okay? ;)
ReplyDeleteMan Raena, these are stunning!!! I've been struggling to do my own cards, ruined the first one, and am in the midst of doing it again. How beautiful these are! I especially like the turtle. I want to try that technique, the background, and then the drawing. Wow.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are wonderful Raena! Such a worthy cause- and the person receiving your art will be so pleased.
ReplyDeleteLove your new header!!!
Beautiful work for a great cause. We see your soul in these.
ReplyDeleteThey are both wonderful - love the backgrounds you did with watercolor.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work Raena!
ReplyDeleteWow, I really like both of them but I must say the Turtle is particularly good. I love it!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Raena and congrats on the sale.
ReplyDeleteI like the new look blog too.
They are really nice and fantastic that one of them already sold, all for a great cause. Love the one you sold (will you sell prints?)
ReplyDeleteWow! This is so touching. Your work is beautiful, but even more beautiful is the fact that you are actually doing this: mopping up an oil spill with your art.
ReplyDeleteThey're just wonderful and touching, knowing what's going on down there with all the animals. Good for you for doing this! (I love the turtle). nancy
ReplyDeleteI can see why they sold so fast - beautiful art cards!
ReplyDeleteWell done you!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love the sea turtle and good on you for supporting the victims of this disaster!:)
ReplyDeleteYay, what a great cause this is for, Raena, and congrats on selling both of them!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love that turtle.
ReplyDeleteBoth ACEO's are terrific but the turtle is exceptional.
ReplyDeleteThese came out great. I told my son about the Ripples blog. He likes the ocean and original art. What a way to have your cake and eat it too for just $10. I love both of your pictures here. So many of the pics turned out wonderful. So much variety over there.
ReplyDeleteI really like the personality of the sea turtle (what you captured in the subject, and the overall treatment).
